When You're Feeling Low

We have all had a time in our lives where we truly felt low, where we truly felt like it couldn't get much worse. Some days are harder than others. One thing to do is to try to look at the good things in life that keep us going, that allow us to stay on our feet. Find what drives you to move forward, and keep on going.

The Majestic Blue Sky

With a great, burning passion
I fly high into the sky
Far above the clouds
Heading towards the stars
Following the wind without question
Knowing up here I'm safe
And am blessed with new freedom
A new sense of joy
From thrills felt by few
What else could feel this great
To be among the birds above
In a majestic paradise unmatched
A grand, blue, natural beauty
One can't help but feel it so
When they fly so high in the sky

Keep a Clear Head

A good thing to do when youre stressed is to take a deep breath and relax. Keeping a clear head, even in high stress situations, makes you less likely to make irrational decisions. Don't fall to the pressure, but rise to the occasion. 

Eternal

What comes to mind
When you hear that word:
Eternal

Is it life everlasting?
Or maybe more
Eternal

Is it our love?
And longing for each other
Eternal

When I think of this word
I think naive
Yet maybe it isn’t so
Eternal

Our daily lives aren’t
Eternal

It is so much better
To get used to the fact
That our lives aren’t
Eternal

It would truly be
The most horrific of curses
Living forever
Eternal

A curse that, I
Would never want for
Even the most hated of foes
Eternal

However, maybe our memory
Is the door to this
This wonderful, but frightening
Eternal

Timeless

Many things in this world
Will eventually change
Over the course of time.

Forgotten are spoken words
Cinders follow dying flames
People wither and die

Is a completely different story

Love Someone, but Not Me

Each day, I yearn more and more
For the hand of a girl so close
Yet embittered, it seems so far
As I am not the one she chose

Why should I be so jealous?
Of that one guy, just so lucky
It was not I whom she met first
And alas, this situation be not too sucky

I find it great to garner our friendship
Yet my jealousy first blinded me
To how great a person her chosen is
Quite frankly, jealousy and envy don’t suit me

This journey will be worth the while
As long as she is still here
How I enjoy her lustrous smile
As I stare from over there

Oh my gosh, she is quite adorable
Still, I can hope that in her eyes
My actions and I aren’t too deplorable
Even as I stare from way over here

It is obvious, I’m in love!
My heart and mind tell me so
Still, this love can be so tough
Head over heels, more so than I thought

I’m a man, disconnected from his feelings
Of that, there can really be no doubt
How can I really, in the world?
Tell her about these feelings flowing about

Maybe I should, maybe I shouldn’t
Reveal these feelings of mine just yet
In the chance of ruining our relationship, I couldn’t
Possibly bear that very thought

So I’ll let things stay as they are now
Because her smile I love to see
It matters much more to me
That each day, she remain happy

Because she’s the one I love
She should always be free
Even though she’s loving someone
That someone is, but not me

Words, those precious things
That we all hold so dear
What, may I honestly ask
Would we do without them?

This way of self expression
That defines who we are
Something so taken
For granted, misunderstood

But what about the words
And how they feel
About constantly being used
By everyone at will

There are many artists
Who work well with words
And so many others
That poison the words they use

Look at people we see often
That greatest of speakers
And the unspeakable evils
By such a terrible persons

Is it the fault of the words?
Or is it our fault?
For all the good we bring
And all the bad we do

These words, often used
For the art of self expression
But what of these words?
And their own desires?

Regardless of our ambitions
And our supposed directions
We have enslaved these words
To work upon our wills
With no freedom to decide
Their own fate, but oh well

Relationships

Relationships help build the foundations of who we are as people. Never take the relationships in your life for granted: you may end up losing some of those important to you, and you can't always get them back.

Just Another Day

We all have our dreams
It's just a part of us
However some make it seem
It's never really easy

Because we over complicate

My dream is to be a lawyer
You know, not the bloodsucking kind

Rhythm of Life

Coming and going like the Winter's dawn, all inspiration has been leeched away.
My voice has faded, cold white snow on my fingertips.

There isn't much left to scrape off the floor, so
I guess I'll have to start from scratch at this point.

On the bright side, I'm none of the twenty odd bugs splattered across my mother's windshield.

Right now, the best course of action is to live each day one at a time, taking what comes your way,
Because being engulfed in your own anxiety is a pretty shitty alternative.

Finding your passion in life

Something I strive for is finding what I'm passionate about in life. It makes life feel more complete, more fulfilling. The easiest way to do this is to go outside of your comfort zone in order to try new things; you'll never experience life nor find what you truly enjoy in life by standing still. I myself took a little goading (and the occasional kick in the ass) to get to where I am now.

Try to live each day to your own expectations; don't let yourself be tied doen by the expectations of others. Experience new things. Find the thing/s that bring your life joy.

Some Things are for Us

Everyone is different, so there are some things that we can do that others can't. We each have different strengths and weaknesses, and we all have a skill others lack; the important thing to do is keep searching until you find it.

Getting out of your Comfort Zone

One thing many people don't do is get out of their comfort zones. In my opinion, that is a reasonably distasteful way to live one's life due to the fact that they'll never really be able to get to where they might want; they'd be taking the easy way out. Leaving your comfort zone means taking a risk, and risk taking is an important part of living one's life.

How to Stay Motivated

One thing many people find difficult is staying motivated, and it can drastically affect one's day.

I myself found it difficult to leave my bed for a time because I had lost the motivation to do more than simply exist; I had lost the passion I used to have.

Reach for a goal to motivate you for someone YOU are striving for. Keep looking forward.

What Constitutes Living a Good Life?

To me, living a good life involves living the life that YOU want to live, striving for your dreams bit by bit. Don't give into the expectations of other people; you need to live for yourself. Reach for the things that make you happy.

The Success in your Failures

You will never be able to fully appreciate success until you've felt the sting of failure, ironic as it seems. The bad things in life allow you to fully understand and truly appreciate the good things in life. In addition, failure is more of a learning curve that prepares you for success. Everyone experiences failure. That's just how life is; the important thing to remember is that you need to pick yourself up when you fall, that the failures prepare you for success.

Take advantage of opportunities that come your way. Many opportunities will present themselves to you and any of them can really change your life. That being said, some will only present themselves once, and the door may close itself to you forever if you don't take it.

Never Give Up!

One thing that should always be remembered is that one must never give up. Success can only be achieved if you keep striving for it. Events rarely pan out the way we expect and prepare for; life will catch us off guard.
Most true goals in life are difficult to achieve, some to the point where we believe they're out of our grasp. An important part of maturing is realizing that we need to keep going, because when we give up on something and quit moving forward to reach it, then it's guaranteed that we won't succeed.

Hello to you all. My name is James, and I'm sort of new to the whole blogging thing, so please bear with me. It's going to be interesting, and I can't wait to begin blogging (hopefully on a regular basis). For the most part, I've never actually done a blog, so I'm going to be making this up as I go along.
